1918 Soviet Leader Vladimir Lenin Was Shot Twice

On August 30th, 1918, Fanny Kaplan, a Socialist Revolutionary, attempted to assassinate Soviet leader Vladimir Lenin by shooting him twice, wounding him in the shoulder and jaw. Lenin survived, but the attack led to intensified political repression during the Red Terror.
