2003 Saddam Hussein Is Captured by US forces

On December 13, 2003, Iraqi President Saddam Hussein was apprehended near Tikrit by US forces. His capture symbolized the fall of a regime accused of tyranny and oppression and brought hope for justice to the Iraqi people and the eventual, if temporary, stabilization of the region.
