2021 Ever Given Blocks the Suez Canal, Disrupting Global Trade
On March 22, 2021, the mega-freighter Ever Given ran aground in the Suez Canal, halting one of the world’s busiest shipping routes. The incident caused a massive backlog of vessels and delayed billions of dollars in global trade before the ship was refloated six days later.
