1946 Winston Churchill Delivers His Famous “Iron Curtain” Speech
On March 5th, 1946, British Prime Minister Winston Churchill spoke at Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri, where he warned of Soviet influence in Eastern Europe. His use of the term “Iron Curtain” highlighted the growing divide between Western democracies and the Eastern Bloc at the onset of the Cold War.
