1993 Mandela & de Klerk Share Nobel Peace Prize

On October 15, 1993, Nelson Mandela and F.W. de Klerk were jointly awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for their efforts in ending apartheid. Their leadership paved the way for a new democratic South Africa and fostered reconciliation and unity after decades of racial segregation.
