2001 The Afghanistan War Began

On October 7, 2001, in response to the September 11 attacks, US and allied forces initiated military operations against the Taliban regime in Afghanistan. The campaign aimed to dismantle terrorist networks and remove the Taliban from power. It sparked a prolonged conflict that reshaped global geopolitics and set the stage for years of military intervention and nation-building efforts.
