2017 Hurricane Maria Struck Puerto Rico
On September 20th, 2017, Hurricane Maria struck Puerto Rico as a Category 4 storm, causing catastrophic damage across the island. With winds reaching 155 mph, the hurricane obliterated infrastructure, knocked out the entire electrical grid, and left millions without access to clean water, food, and medical care.
